Move, Play & Belong

Inclusive family sports for every community.

Move, Play & Belong supports families facing social, economic or cultural barriers to take part in regular movement, community sport and shared active experiences.

About the project

Sport as a right, not a privilege.

The project develops a practical, adaptable model to help socially at-risk families become more active and better connected through family-centred sport.

Move, Play & Belong: Inclusive Family Sports responds to barriers that can prevent families from participating in physical activity, including financial constraints, lack of accessible opportunities, limited information, cultural differences and social stigma.

The project will develop the Move, Play & Belong Framework, a scalable model for engaging families in regular physical activity, targeted sport programmes and health education. The framework will be informed by research, tested in Latvia and shared through European sport and community networks.

A strong focus is placed on family participation across generations, inclusion of socially at-risk families, community engagement and practical guidance for organisations that want to make sport more accessible.
